『사우스 라이딩』 영문판.
1936년에 출간된 위니프레드 홀트비의 장편소설.
1930년대 초반, 고향 사우스 라이딩(South Riding)의 여학교 교장으로 부임하여 신교육(新敎育) 방식을 도입하려는 주인공 사라 버튼(Sarah Burton)을 통해 요크셔(Yorkshire) 지역의 삶과 사회 문제 등을 조명하고 있다. 2011년 BBC에서 동명 드라마로 제작되었다.
